OPINION: Why we lost and how to fix it

Yes, Obama won again but you do not need to and should not lose your sanity or belief in the ability to solve our nation’s problems because of that.

When I got up Wednesday morning, as usual, I had a large heap of political email waiting for me on my BlackBerry, but what was unusual was the quantity of negative, defeated and scared remarks from fellow Romney supporters. Yes, everyone has their theory as to why Romney lost. Minorities want Obama period, Romney’s out of touch, America is now a liberal nation, voting machines were hacked, facts were concealed and even multiple people saying that God is cursing America.

With all of this discussion I believe that there is one BIG reason why Romney and quite frankly, conservatives in general (if you can call him one) lose nowadays. That reason is the economy. What, dude? Conservatives are the economic big kahuna! Yes, they are, but votes are easily cast by those who don’t see that anymore.

OPINION: No Moral Equivalency

By Seth first published at conservativesolutions.co
As any student of history could have foreseen the Arab Spring has become an Islamist winter. Well before the first rockets were launched at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv sending civilians running for cover Mohammed Morsi the newly elected President of Egypt and member of the Muslim Brotherhoodwas seen mouthing amen to a prayer calling for the genocide of The Jewish people. Iran, emboldened by the Obama encouraged regime change has stepped up its provocations, including recently firing on a US drone in international waters. In this article I will argue that there is no moral equivalency between Israel and her Jihadist enemies and furthermore they are part of a broader battle which radical Islamists are waging against The West.
The reader may be asking how is this relevant to the onslaught of rockets targeting Israeli civilians which took place for a long time and with more frequency this past week? To answer that one must be aware that The Iranian government and The Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt share a goal of a Middle East without Israel and a return of The Islamic Caliphate.  Islamic Jihad and Hamas are both Iranian backed terror groups dedicated to the destruction of Israel. Iran this past week bragged about supplying the missiles which were reaching Tel Aviv. Hamas has perpetrated many deadly homicide bombings in pizza stores, hotels and malls over the years and shares a Jihadist Muslim Brotherhood ideology. The fact that Iranian ideology and influence is growing is very bad news for the entire Western World and for the prospects of peace in the region.
Once one is aware of what Hamas represents it shows the fallacy of the moral equivalency argument espoused by many in the left wing mainstream media. As Dennis Prager points out in his recent articleHow The New York Times Covers Evil, the mainstream media seeks to portray a moral equivalency between Hamas rocket fire and Israeli army air strikes to protect Israel—in doing so they promote evil. This past week the Jihadhists bombed a bus in Tel Aviv among a series of civilian targets which they targeted. There is no equivalency between terrorists sponsored by the Iranian terrorist regime targeting civilians for injury and murder and a democratic government defending itself by targeting terrorists and destroying rocket launching pads. Any time civilians are killed it is tragic but it is more tragic that Hamas and other Islamist terror groups deliberately fire from schools and civilian populations and use civilians as human shields. This disparity and lack of moral equivalency I believe is why in a recent CNN poll the majority of Americans sympathize with Israel in this conflict, despite the fact that at times CNN tends toward an Anti-Israel bias.
To stand with Israel in recognizing the threat they face from Islamist terror is to realize that they are defending Western civilization from Jihadism. Indeed, with images of Islamist terrorists dragging an American ambassador in Libya through the streets fresh in our minds and the horrifying images of the Twin Towers in our not so distant collective memory, we in America know all too well the evil of radical Islamic ideology and its threat to our way of life. Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood is the group which Al Qaeda terrorist leader Ayman Al Zawaheri came from and it is a group which has pledged to destroy Western civilization from within. While the left always promotes a moral equivalency there is none here. Radical Islam is at war with the non Muslim world and its values whether they are fighting India, Thailand or rioting over cartoons in France the civilized world faces a common threat. Like Bin Ladin The Hamas terrorists in Gaza have told Israel that they Hamas love death more then Israel loves life.  So when Israel strikes against terror they are fighting another front in the war on terror and though no one wishes war, terror is unacceptable and no government would or should tolerate it. These are some important points to remember when reading the headlines from the Middle East and this is what Israel is up against and why America’s support for Israel in this critical time is so important.

Opinion: Time to Vote Obama Out

Is a trillion dollar debt, an attack in Libya which claimed the lives of a U.S. ambassador and Navy seals with a confusing and inconsistent response from the Obama administration, and higher unemployment numbers for October is this the best we can expect … Continue reading

Practice What You Preach

Source: http://www.yaf.org/Practice-free-speech.aspx

Over the last few days, a number of articles have highlighted how APU has attempted to defend its actions in banning a YAF chapter on campus. The school claims its support of conservative students and ideas. However, APU should back up its statements by supporting students who want to form a chapter and not by blocking their associations. We do not accept second class student status for young leaders especially when the reason given is a statement on our website that applies “if” the university sees itself as bias. Azusa’s administrators obviously saw themselves as such.

The Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute has also worked with Ashley Blackwell to advance conservatism on campus and writes about how Ashley had multiple encounters with liberal students and administrators on campus.

Opinion: Main Stream Media meets Presidential Debate

Main Stream Media meets Presidential Debate

By now the candidates have spoken the questions have been asked and the Moderator has moderated the second presidential debate, well sort of…

While there were a few questions which actually held the president accountable for his record one of which came from someone who voted for Obama last time (who was disappointed), with his expectations of Mr. Obama’s hope and change lowered many of the questions seemed more designed for the Democratic primary, with one questioner even helping Obama by repeating his talking point of blaming the horrible economy on inheritance from former Pres. George W. Bush. Where were the many Americans who want to ask the President why he has sent our tax payer money to pay for a commercial in  Pakistan to apologize for a film critical of Islam made by a private citizen, despite the fact that America stands for freedom of speech?  Or those who just happened to be wondering why the national debt has increased not decrease like he told the country it would if elected?  Where are the Americans frustrated with having ObamaCare forced on them, and where were the questions wondering why this president has apologized to people who hate our country and embrace radical Islamist teachings?  Many Americans had these type of questions, yet as usual were not represented by the mainstream media at this “town hall.” The one question on the Libya tragedy and mishandling by this administration got a very indirect answer from The President and in the course of the discussion the moderator gave her two cents and fact checked for Mr.Obama teaming up against Gov.Romney. The problem is her fact check was inappropriate, especially being that she later admitted Gov.Romney was right in the “main”. Either way we did not see her fact check what Mr. Obama said, and as usual the President was given more time to speak then Gov.Romney. While debates cannot cover up 4 years of failure and incompetence, as a democracy and a country which prides itself on our free press we have the right to expect more from the media. Is it too much to ask that the questioners reflect different sectors of American society with more than one conservative questioner or that the moderator avoid teaming up with one of the candidates? Apparently it is!  To avoid actually having a quality debate where real issues like the astronomically high national debt and Obama’s failed foreign policy are actually discussed, the elites would rather have Gov. Romney discuss the ways in which he is different than Pres.George W.Bush and listen to Obama divide America based on class. As the size of government increases but the confidence in this administration decreases, it’s becoming clear no amount of spin and media favoritism can take away from the facts and those are in Gov.Romney’s favor.
